Mneme text messages

Mneme is a personal assistant you call on the phone at (650) 229-6586. It is operated by Peter Danenberg. Its text program sends messages only to people who have opted in, from (650) 229-6586: a link to finish setting up, replies to their requests, and reminders and alerts they set up. It never sends marketing.

How to opt in

There are two ways, and each covers only the number it was given for.

1. On a call

When you call (650) 229-6586, Mneme asks before it texts you. This is the question, word for word:

“Can I text you a link to finish setting up? It comes from this number, (650) 229-6586, about 1 to 5 texts a day. Message and data rates may apply, and you can reply STOP anytime.”

If you say yes, the number you are calling from is opted in, and Mneme texts you once to confirm. If you say no, it doesn't text you.

Mneme also answers at its toll-free number, (888) 920-9192. A call there works the same way: Mneme asks the same question before it texts you, naming (888) 920-9192 as the number the texts come from, and texts you from it if you say yes.

2. On the web

Sign in at mneme.bot, add your mobile number, and tick this box. It starts unticked, and you can untick it later in the same place.

After either opt-in, Mneme sends one confirmation:
